2011 denim has been stripped down to the core.
It’s time to tuck away your jazzy-jewelery, put those scisors back in the kitchen and the bleach back in the laundry room. Gone are the days of embellished jeans, crystal studded pockets, overstressed denim, blown out knees, and designer’s names splashed across derrières everywhere.
It’s easy to find a new pair of go-to jeans; from malls to the high end department stores, classic jeans can be found everywhere. A simple jean looks good on all body types because with less distraction, it becomes more about the cut. Find a fit that works with your body type, and you’ll wear your outfit, instead of the outfit wearing you. An added bonus by going basic on the bottom is that you can have more fun with the upper half of your outfit. Rock an eye catching pattern or tuck in a collared shirt and sport an armful of bangles.
Another great quality about the true blue basic jean is that they can be dressed up or down. Wear them to work on casual Friday and then throw on a pair of heels, change your top, grab a clutch and you’re ready for a Friday night out on the town.
There really is something to be said about simplicity in fashion. Mothers all over the world are saying “I told you so.” Less really is more.
